Steve Hillier released his first EP, Moving Star, on Sept 1, 2023. Two outstanding musicians from Lyon, France, guitarist Mike Noegraf and drummer Zamm Kenoby, provided accompaniment. Rafael Frietas, a very talented bass player from Brazil, is also featured on two songs, Come Back Home and Nancy. Encouraged by fans and fellow musicians, Steve recorded and produced this EP with the help of an online site - Fiverr.com. All of the songs were written by Steve between 1971 and 2023. The lyrics reflect the philosophy of love and peace of the sixties, focusing on our need to exhibit greater humanity and tolerance toward one another, and on growing old, looking back and contemplating spirituality. Starting out the EP with a synthesizer solo reminiscent of 70’s prog rock, with Zamm Kenoby on drums, Steve’s keyboards and vocals whisk the listener away on a passionate ride, full of melodic and harmonic changes reminiscent of early Genesis and Yes. “Stepping outside, now you're off on a ride, moving star.” The song lyrics inspired the very talented, well-known book illustrator and artist, Leraynne S, to create the beautiful cover art.
