Let's Talk About It — Steve Hillier Music

When I went to release my first digital album I found out there was another Steve Hillier, also a keyboard player, in the U.K. I thought about changing my name, but it just seemed too wierd and pretentious so I didn't. He is a bit famous, so I doubt he even noticed my homegrown album. I released this, my first album in September 2018. The music is mostly piano rock and blues with some jazz, pop and psychedelic rock. There is only one additional musician, a multi-instrumentalist named Fred Figueroa. He provided a lot of harmonica, guitar on one song, drums on one song, and background vocals on two songs. Fred recorded his tracks in northern Florida and I recorded my tracks in southern Florida. My piano and vocals were recorded at the same time, using my Yamaha S90 and everything sent directly into an old Macbook 1/8" input. The songs were mixed using Audacity and then mastered using LANDR.com. This album is important to me as it was my first international release, and I was able to get my daughter Niki to help me with the cover art.
